CLEVELAND COUNTY, N.C. "He was about 9, 10-foot tall with real long arms. ...It looked like a giant ape with a man's face," Peeler said in a 911 call. "I was afraid to kill it. It made a whimpering sound. I just wanted y'all to know I have not shot one or killed one."
Tim Peeler told the 911 operator that the creature had killed one of his dogs.
"Would I get in any trouble if I shot and killed this beast, this animal or whatever it is?" Peeler asked.
The 911 operator responded, "I can't answer that question."
"If he comes to close to me, I'm going to kill him," Peeler said.
